What does being a woke mama mean to you?

Biggest struggle so far? How do you cope with stressful moments?
SLEEP and lack of it! I try to make sure that my nutrition is as optimal as it can be so that I don’t put any extra stress on my system and give myself some fuel for the day.
I really focus on eating natural foods so that I have loads of good quality nutrients to keep me going and avoid processed foods and sugar, as they really make me feel awful and mess with my hormones!
Any time I have a carbohydrate rich meal (things like potatoes, rice, oats etc), I include a protein (meat, fish, eggs, nuts/seeds etc), and a fat (olive oil, avocado, nuts) to keep my blood sugar balanced and make sure my energy lasts longer.
I also ditch the caffeine as it can cause extra anxiety, which none of us mums want! When we get stressed we also use up certain nutrients like magnesium, zinc and B vitamins, which can all be found in veggies, so I always load up my plate with different coloured plants and vary it to keep it interesting!
Any advice you would give to new mums?
